In her debut novel, Meserve writes a fast-paced mystery/romance that's well grounded in the nitty-gritty details of local TV news... a solid feel-good
romance sparked with mystery.

Good Sam by author, Dete Meserve is one of the best mystery romance tales I have read in a long, long time. The reader is there as Kate slowly unravels the mystery of the identity of Good Sam; even more enthralling was the reason why he was giving away money…Good Sam is filled with mystery, betrayal, romance, and love. I enjoyed watching Kate change from a skeptic to someone who could trust; from a cynical reporter to a caring woman.

Debra Gaynor, Readers' Favorite Book Awards

Remember when books were literate, good reads with well-defined characters, who had integrity, courage and displayed real vulnerability, without whining? They were interesting people, and we enjoyed taking part in their journey. Dete Meserve has created such a character in GOOD SAM, news reporter Kate Bradley, who tries to find the Good Samaritan who keeps leaving $100,000 anonymously on people's porches... GOOD SAM is not a staid book. There's plenty of romance, and it's physical, but she writes it in a very classy way. You feel like your reading the kind of romance that Ingrid Bergman and Bogart might have. It's sexy, all right, and you get swept along with it. This is a an author who deserves to be supported.

Breaking News: this new author has managed to write a compelling mystery/love story with no dead bodies to be found. Bravo! Hollywood take note - author Dete Meserve takes us into a world not often explored, and writes fluidly, always leaving the reader wanting to turn the page (or Kindle, next!) . Hot stuff!

Barbara Schroeder, author 'Beverly Hills Confidential'

Good Sam has it all. Good Sam is an intriguing mystery filled with enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning pages into the wee hours of the morning… But wait, it's not all mystery, Meserve also delivers romance with plenty of heart.

Darlene Quinn, award-winning author of the 'Webs' series

Dete Meserve has written a captivating novel that expresses positivity really can be found in society. Yet Good Sam is not a typical ‘feel good’ story; you’ll be on the edge of your seat until the very last pages. Kate Bradley is tenacious, funny, full of moxie and has great reporter instincts. Yet despite the outward appearance that she has it all together, Kate is on a journey of self discovery and we lucky readers are along for the ride. A must read for cynics and optimists alike.

Lori Costew, Author of the award-winning 'Sherpa's Adventures' series

A fast-paced mystery with a touch of romance will keep you reading until the end.

Leigh Cunningham, award-winning author of 'Being Anti-Social'

I truly loved Good Sam! The characters were authentic and believable and the story so strong. There were twists and turns and surprises in the plot and all of the characters had depth in interesting and different ways. I loved Kate Bradley’s spunk in combination with her vulnerability along with Eric Hayes’ complicated character. An added bonus is all the detail about LA and taking us to so many different parts of the city with its unique climate and geography. A beautifully told story.

Marilyn Sadler, one of the creators of 'Handy Manny'

Good Sam drew me in from the first page and I could not put it down. Dete Meserve weaves a tale filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing. Wonderfully descriptive with fascinating behind the scenes details of a TV news station, Good Sam blurs the line between personal and professional in the search for the truth. An uplifting page turner that reminds us to look for the good in the world, and ourselves.

Lisa Wainland, award-winning author 'Rock Radio'

I absolutely LOVED this book with its well rounded, believable characters in realistic situations, I felt like I was back in Los Angeles. This story has it all. Plenty of mystery and romance, heroism and deceit, love and loss, but all with a touch of humor.

Hayley Rose, award-winning author 'Fifo Fifty States'

Set around a news reporter assigned to a feel good story, instead of her usual tragedy and crime beat, and her quest to find the truth about the “Good Sam” who’s giving away a total of $1,000,000.00 to local residents. She is determined to get behind appearances in pursuit of the truth but finds herself caught up in the middle along the way. With subtle messages of trusting your instincts and facing your fears, this book is a real winner.

Kes Trester, author of, '7 Days'

When I finished reading Good Sam I wished that I could have just a few more pages with Kate Bradley. Tagging along with this witty, street-smart character through the edgy world of Bummer Beat news turned out to be fascinating, terrifying, touching and uplifting. Kate is a perfect guide, that favorite buddy who will always offer the sharpest observation or funniest remark. A great ride!

Meg Thayer, writer/director, 'True Rights'

Rarely have I found myself so satisfied in my soul at the end of a book, having joined a relatable protagonist on her admirable pursuit to uncover truth, no matter the danger or obstacles, and in the process overcoming her own fears and learning to trust again- that there is still good in this world and it starts with you and me. Thoroughly entertaining and inspiring. Everyone should own a copy. It just might make the world a better place.
